Why not sign up today for paperless business rates tax bills? Did you know it costs us around 50p to send a bill through the post? You can make your life easier, save paper, and save us money by signing up to paperless bills. It's easy to sign up and only takes a few minutes.

Your bill will be issued by us in March each year. 

Pay business rates by Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the most efficient way to pay.

You can pay by instalments over 10 or 12 months with a choice of payment dates, the 1st, 15th or 28th of each month.

To set up a Direct Debit you will need:

  • an email address 
  • your business rates reference number which can be found on your bill
  • your bank or building society name, address, account number and sort code.

You can pay business rates using our secure online payments system.

You will need to have your debit or credit card and your business rate account reference number to hand, you can find the reference number on your bill.

Pay business rates by telephone

You can pay by credit or debit card through our secure automated telephone payments system which is available 24/7. Call 01257 511000 and quote your account reference number which can be found on your business rates bill. You will then be asked for your credit or debit card details.

Please ensure that the payment reaches us by the due date on your bill.

Pay business rates at any Post Office or PayPoint outlet

You can make your payment at Post Office and PayPoint outlets. Please take your bill with a barcode on the front when making payment and allow 3 working days for payment to reach your account.

 

Paying business rates in instalments

If you choose to pay by instalments, they must be paid in line with the schedule set out on your bill. 

You can view your account and any correspondence using business rates online(e-citizen).
